Santosha Yoga Options
Yoga is a combination of mindful breathing, physical postures, and meditation. Yoga is an ancient philosophy grounded in a focused approach to conscious living. Yoga is a fitness routine that helps athletes build strength, flexibility, and balance. Yoga helps pregnant and post-partum women embrace the changes in their bodies and celebrate new life. Yoga supports individuals with chronic pain or trauma to move in a way that feels safe. Yoga helps kids control their impulses and build core strength. And, so much more. No matter how or why we practice yoga, the practice can help us come to know ourselves better. And on this fertile ground, real change is possible. Santosha Health and Wellness offers private and group yoga sessions via Zoom.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga links breath to movement, as practitioners move through a series of postures to warm the body from the inside out. The flow can be designed for beginners, as well as for experienced yogis, and combines postures to build strength, flexibility, balance, and focus.
Yoga For Kids: Things you tell your kids: Sit still. Pay attention. Stand up straight. Finish your homework. Things your kids do: Squirm. Fidget. Lose stuff. Slouch. Forget what they had for homework! That’s because they’re kids! You celebrate their energy and spirit, and wish you had half of it. And, by helping kids channel that energy through mindful breathing and physical activity, we can also help them use it to improve impulse control, manage their growing and changing bodies, focus their attention, and feel some control in their lives. Santosha Health and Wellness offers Kids Yoga Groups, and can design custom programs for school groups, children’s organizations, birthday parties, and anyone else interested in having fun with kids!
Prenatal Yoga: Practicing prenatal yoga is an opportunity for mom and baby to connect through movement and meditation, and to develop that sacred bond as parent and child before the baby even enters this world. In prenatal yoga, we incorporate the growing baby into the practice, avoiding some postures and encouraging others, to support a healthy pregnancy and a prepared childbirth. Embrace and strengthen your changing body as you move through your pregnancy experience.
Yoga for People with Stress, Chronic Pain, or Trauma: Santosha Health and Wellness is committed to making yoga accessible to all. Practices can be tailored for individuals with limited movement, and can be specially designed to support individuals with other stressors in a way that brings grace and loving kindness.
“Be patient toward all that is unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And, the point is, to live everything. ”
